UFC Holly Holm describes her awkward encounter with Jay Z and Beyoncé MMA LIFE SHOP

Why do you need to take-up woman self-defence lesson?

You have seen it in the movie. A girl is heading to her car in a dark and isolated parking bay. Suddenly an evil looking bald guy jumps out from behind a van. With her keys, she jabs the bad guy with the keys and then she throws some kicks at his groin. He is squirming in pain. She escapes safely. This seems like the world simplest self-defence techniques.

That is the movie. Now is the real-life replay. The reality. When the girl was trying to jab the bad guy. He knows what is coming and grabs her arm. He is so strong. The girl is in pain and could feel the force crushing her arm. Then when she was throwing her kicks, he grabs her leg and pull her off balance and she fell. She is now in a real bad position to defend herself. She landed on the ground. She can't escape.

Most people think of self-defence as a karate kick to the groin or jab to the eyes of an assailant, just like in the movies. But in real life, sometimes, self-defence means doing everything possible to escape and avoid fighting. Self-defence is all about using your brain not just your fist. Common sense is crucial but not brute force. The best way to avoid a potential attack before it happens is to trust your instincts. Most of the time, your intuition, combined with your common sense, can help get you out of trouble.

However, when the situation required, the best way is to get prepared to fight off an assailant is to take a woman self-defence lesson. One of the best things you will get from a good self-defence lesson is self-confidence. From a good self-defence lesson, You will learn how to respond or what you should do when being attacked. You will know what moves to use even when under pressure. You will pick-up effective and practical self-defence techniques to surprise the attacker and catch him off guard.
