It is being reported that Wanderlei Silva wants to face Forrest Griffin at UFC 79 in December to avenge the loss that Mauricio ?Shogun? Rua just had this past weekend. Silva was scheduled to face Chuck ?The Iceman? Liddell if Liddell had defeated Jardine and avoided any injuries. A fight that has been in the making for over four years now seems doomed to being a fantasy fight that we?ll never see.



Silva?s former Chute Boxe teammate Mauricio Rua was a heavy favorite this past Saturday to defeat Forrest Griffin, and then move on to face Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson for the UFC Light Heavyweight belt. Instead, Griffin spoiled Rua?s chance to finally climb to the top of the ladder and have a belt show for it. Now it?s Griffin that?s the wanted man.







Mauricio Rua has avenged a loss for Wanderlei Silva before when he defeated Ricardo Arona at PRIDE Final Conflict 2005 in the finals of Middleweight tournament. Silva now wants to avenge a loss for a devastated Rua.
