MMA Coach: Anderson Silva thought he cracked repaired leg in first round - MMA Fighting MMA LIFE SHOP

When it comes to making that thing called chi energy, tai chi kung fu is one of the better methods. What's interesting is that the ideas used in that martial art can be used in Karate, taekwondo, hsing i, or whatever. The principles being utilized, you see, are pretty universal.

One of the first exercises one might encounter, if one finds a good tai chi chuan system, is 'holding the bowl.' This is an easy drill, at least for the first couple of minutes...smile. One simply assumes an hourglass stance, back very slightly rounded, and positions the arms as if holding a large pot.

The first problem one stumbles on when doing this exercise is mental. The mind starts thinking, and these thoughts tend to disturb the practice. Once one has firmly resolved to get past this phenomena, however, the mental aspect resolves.

The second problem in doing this drill is more physical. After an hour, the body starts to protest being made to do the discipline. It doesn't want to run chi power through it, it doesn't want to just stand there, and it will shake and quake and and even try to get ill.

Just ignore the mental yakkety yak, and ignore the body protest, and focus on the stillness of the mind (listen to the universe around you), and move chi energy through the body. After a short while in the holding the pot position one will start to feel chi power, and there are many things you can do with this energy. You can move the energy around the bowl of the arms, you can channel it around the major meridian running through the center of the front and back of the body, and you can do other sorts of tricks.

What is of importance is that this martial arts exercise has incredible effects. After becoming practiced at this posture, doing the karate pattern called Sanchin will show amazing amounts of chi power. One's martial arts abilities will truly start to grow and manifest.

This exercise, incidentally, is one of the ten arm positions in the martial arts, as revealed in 'The Perfect Technique,' (Quality Press). Thus, it becomes an important tool for martial arts studies. The core principle behind this book is that there are only ten positions the arms can assme that will channel chi power, and that the position of the limbs in the 'holding the bowl' exercise, as done in tai chi martial arts, is the first and probably the most critical of these arm positions.

The popularity of mixed martial arts (MMA) as a sport is increasing rapidly with more and more people taking it up. The sport offers a great way to keep fit and also release some of the pent-up aggression or frustration that can arise due to the everyday pressures of life. The sport is becoming so popular that there is a very realistic chance that it will rival boxing in the forthcoming months. However, for those that are just getting into the sport it can be a steep learning curve in terms of techniques and buying the right equipment. Here we seek to help any newcomers to the sport by advising what you should be looking for in your MMA shorts.

Stretchable fabric

When sparring there is a very strong chance that you are going to getting dragged and pulled about by your opponent. This means that at some point your shorts are going to come under some serious stress. In order to reduce the likelihood of tearing it is a good idea to look for shorts that are made from a stretchable fabric.

Quality stitching

Whilst stretchable fabric will help take some of the strain that MMA shorts come under, it won't completely remove the possibility of tearing. That is why it is essential to choose an option that includes quality stitching at all the seams.

Webbing

As with boxing, it is advisable for participants of MMA to wear a box to protect wedding tackle; a stray low punch or kick can cause serious discomfort. In order to offer more support and to ensure that the box stays in place during the exertions of training and fighting your MMA shorts should be fitted with some internal webbing.

Split side seems

As you get into MMA you will soon realise that you have to be able to put your body through a wide range of movements. From executing a high kick, to grappling on the floor; your shorts need to provide freedom of movement. Therefore be sure to look for some that have split seems at the bottom of the outside leg as to not restrict your movement.

Adjustable waistband

Man y people find that when they take up MMA their body begins to change quite rapidly. People that are overweight can quickly begin to shed pounds due to the intensity that training involves. Those that begin with a more slender physique may quickly find that they are putting on weight as they add muscle mass. In order to avoid having to buy more MMA shorts soon after you begin the sport be sure to go for some that have an adjustable waistband and that will still fit as you lose or gain weight.

Physical fitness can be defined as a general state of good physical health. Obtaining and maintaining physical fitness is a result of physical activity, proper diet and nutrition. In more simple terms, physical fitness is to the human body what fine-tuning is to an engine. It allows the individual to perform up to their potential. Regardless of age physical fitness is the condition that helps the individual to look, feel and do their best. Therefore physical trainers define it as the ability to perform daily tasks vigorously, enjoy leisure-time activities and meet emergency demands.

Physical Fitness for kids is as important as it is for grown ups. Today in this digital era, you can find kids are more interested in playing video games, watching television, taking music classes rather than getting involved in any kind of physical activities. This is really sad for our future generations because participation in sports or athletics, and martial arts not only improves physical health but also builds confidence in children. It is important that parents work to revive interest in physical activities in their home itself.

Whether male or female, your children will benefit a lot from physical activities like sports, martial arts etc. Participating in physical activities gives sense of confidence to your child and also helps your kid to improve grades in school.

It is the best idea to teach your child the importance of physical activities when they are young. If your child develops physical fitness early then they will build healthy habits for rest of their lives.

There is a myth among some parents that physical activities like outdoor games are nothing more than a distraction for the child. But the importance of the physical fitness for kids should not be ignored because the cost of poor physical health and the declines in mental and emotional health that always accompany unhealthy physical bodies is extreme. Make a fitness schedule for your children and make them head towards healthy living. Inspire your children to learn to live life in a healthy way by doing it yourself. In addition to following a proper fitness regime also consider adopting a healthy diet and nutrition plan that is low in cholesterol and rich in fiber, vitamins, and other essential nutrients.

MMA Conor McGregor Is on Steroids After UFC 196 Weight Gain, Says Nate Diaz's Coach | Bleacher Report MMA LIFE SHOP

In the 50s of the 19th century, the world didn?t know anything about Tai Chi Kung Fu before the grand master Yeung taught Tai Chi in Beijing. The Tai Chi system he taught was called the Chan?s Tai Chi. In the 30s of the 20th century, the famous master Chan was invited to teach Tai Chi in Beijing. His kung fu was so good and personality so kind that people called him the Tai Chi Man.

During that time there were some people practicing Ng?s Tai Chi in Beijing and were quite famous. They heard about master Chan and his skills, so they invited him for some cultural exchange and sharing. After they greeted each other, they invited Master Chan to show them his Taichi routines. Master Chan did not refuse and immediately started doing his routines. After that he was leaving.

Everyone else were assuming an hour for the observation but turn out he finished in a little bit more than 10 minutes. They marveled at how powerful and quick master Chan?s moves were and started discussing. Some said he was too fast which is not correct according to traditional Tai Chi theory. But the Master Lau knew that although he did the moves fast, they were executed in smooth circle motions and although there were releasing of power, he remained relaxed. He was very humble and decided to learn Tai Chi under Chan.

One of Chan?s students was Master Hung who later became a really important person is the development of Taichi Kung Fu. Hung learnt the essence of Chan?s Kung Fu and improved the whole system and called it Practical Tai Chi.

One of the most important Tai Chi move is called the King Kong Pounding. It is actually the starting move of the first routine. In 1957, Hung went to Beijing and visited Chan. In the mean time, he asked whether the King Kong Pounding move can be used to handle attacks directly. Chan gave a positive answer. Later Hung change the move a little bit. The move is executed by raising right hand to contact opponent?s coming right straight punch with forearm. Left hand twists internally and places in front to avoid elbow attacks.

Hung used to tell a story about this move. During a time in the past, Chan was employed as a martial artist to defend a city due to the robberies there. Another martial artist in town heard the news came for a fight. Chan was smoking in the house with both hands holding something. The man came in and tried to punch Chan right away. Chan used the King Kong Pounding move to contact with his wrist and stretched his fingers. Immediately the man was knocked back and fell out of the door. This is how powerful the simple move can be.

MMA ‘The Hurt Business’ Trailer: The Art And Brutal Cost Of Mixed Martial Arts MMA LIFE SHOP

Ok when on the hunt for a great martial arts coach you really need to find some body with expert knowledge in their field of education; the martial art or arts, do they hold a black belt and do they have a black belt certificate or coaching qualification? If not run!

You need to watch the instructor skills; do they hum and mess up on demonstrating a move, method or technique or perform it like an expert. Also you need to look if they uphold martial arts tradition of discipline in class time but be fine and let students ask questions too?

All coaches need to have the points I just outlined for good coaching abilities.

The Instructor must continue to train and learn new knowledge all the time. Not just become the coach and never learn again, training in martial arts means continually progressing all the time to get to total perfection and a professional coach will do this.

Does the coach lead by example? Can they perform the moves, methods, kata's, jumping kicks etc they ask you to do, only with exemption to very old master instructors who have pictures and testimonials of they performing at the high level.

A great coach will always try to be on the mat training because that is what they have chosen to do as a career and they will love what they do, so are they mostly on the mat teaching or do they have a lower ranking student teach everyone instead. So the great instructors continue to professionally develop and put this in to their classes when teaching on the mat.

All good coaches must stay in shape and have great knowledge on conditioning and nutrient. They should understand the concepts in dieting for competition or weight loss to become optimal, to help their students and themselves too. hopefully your instructor will have some sort of fitness routine in their classes, if not they need to do some continued professional development to understand more new training methods and concepts to martial arts training like MMA or kickboxing for example. Lastly they need to stay in shape for the simple fact that students look up to their coaches for motivation.

In closing they should be able to answer any questions and walk the walk.

OK then so there you have it and quick fact file on what to look for in a expert martial arts instructor on many levels.

Conor McGregor Floyd Mayweather Says Praise For Ronda Rousey And Conor McGregor Proves ‘Racism Still Exists’ – UPROXX MMA LIFE SHOP

Many people understand that in order to be successful in the martial arts and life then belief in yourself and especially in your abilities is critical.

There are a lot of people who get involved in the martial arts in order to build confidence, self-esteem and belief in themselves.

This article will give a deeper perspective in this process so that the reader can further understand and strengthen his belief in his abilities, which will in turn further develop his abilities and improve his skills at the same time.

Let's start off by examining what it means to believe in yourself. I personally have always seen this as a trap to be avoided. Believing in your self is delusional in that your self has no real basis in what you can do and how you can perform. Believing that you are good at something will not necessarily make you good at it. Focused practice on properly doing it is the only thing that will increase your abilities. Therefore believing in your abilities will make you better and help you to perform when needed. Your confidence should be based on your abilities and not your self.

This of course should only come from a realistic assessment of your abilities and knowing your strengths and weaknesses and focusing on overcoming your weaknesses.

Some people might simply see this as semantics but if you think about it carefully you'll realize that there is truth to this understanding of the difference between belief in your self and belief in your abilities.

With belief in yourself you are merely creating the illusion in your mind about what you can do. With belief in your abilities you are looking to be clear on what you can actually do, and if you are being honest with yourself then you are removing your ego from the equation and realistically assessing what you can do and what needs more focused attention and practice so you can eventually develop the skill in being able to do it well.

For a deeper understanding, let's say you believe you can defend yourself based on the fact that you have developed self confidence because you fight well in the ring and have been working on self defense skills for many years.

Do you think that this will give you a realistic perspective compared to if you learned what is necessary to realistically defend yourself and analyzed all your skills as well as developed a situational awareness needed for successfully defending yourself. And so you solidified your belief in your skills by testing them under pressure as much as realistically possible and developed a confidence in those skills as working in the necessary environment.

Which one of these two beliefs, one in yourself the other in your abilities, do you think is more grounded on what you can actually do as opposed to what you believe about your self?

Which do you think will make a difference in a self defense situation?
